Getting to Muscat

Muscat International Airport (MCT) is the main gateway to Oman, located approximately 30 kilometers from the city center. The airport serves numerous international airlines with direct flights from major cities in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Airport Transfer: Taxis and car rental services are available at the airport. The journey to the city center takes approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.

By Road

Oman has excellent road connections with neighboring countries. Visitors can enter by car from the UAE through several border crossings. The drive from Dubai to Muscat takes approximately 4-5 hours.

Taxi

Taxis are widely available throughout Muscat. Orange and white taxis are metered, while shared taxis (baisa buses) operate on fixed routes. It's advisable to agree on a fare before starting your journey for unmetered taxis.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Muscat is from October to April when temperatures are more moderate (20-30°C). Summer months (May-September) can be extremely hot, with temperatures often exceeding 40°C.

Currency
